Florida mom drops off her 1-year-old at mailbox


A Florida mother is accused of dropping her1-year-old at a mailbox.

Erin Carnes, 27, returned to the mailbox with two bags of baby belongings in front of the Palmetto home in Southwest Florida, according to Bradenton.com.

Carnes then crashed on a bridge and threatened to jump before police intervened, according to the report.

Carnes’ grandmother picked up the abandoned child. Carnes was arrested and charged Sunday with child abandonment.

Investigators said the suspect believed the father lived in the home where the mailbox was located.
