ATM ripped from Miramar bank by thieves with forklift, loaded onto truck

An ATM was ripped from its base at a Miramar bank by thieves operating a forklift, authorities said Friday.

The thieves loaded the freed bank machine onto a truck, which was found abandoned. The forklift was apparently stolen from a construction site.

Investigators are looking into whether the thieves were able to extract any money from the machine, which was taken from the Bank of America at Southwest 29th Street and Dykes Road.
