Armored truck guard robbed near Miami bank

An armored truck guard was robbed of a courier bag with an undisclosed amount of money Thursday morning near a Miami bank branch, according to the FBI.

The robbery happened at about 9:20 a.m. near the Regions Bank branch at 6013 NW Seventh Ave.

According to the FBI, the robber approached the guard, displayed two handguns and took the bag. There were no shots fired and no injuries.

The FBI is looking for a late-1990s green four-door Pontiac with tinted windows, possibly a Grand Am or Grand Prix, that was last seen traveling south on Northwest Sixth Court, then east on 60th Street away from the bank.

The robber, who is believed to be between 5-feet-11-inches and 6-feet tall, was wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark pants and a cloth bandana covering his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 305-944-9101 or Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-8477.
