Miami’s Top 5: What you should know Wednesday

 

1. The UM men’s basketball team faces another test Wednesday night against the Tar Heels in North Carolina. The Hurricanes are coming off a close loss to a top team, Syracuse.

2. The chill and rain of the morning will give way to a warmer South Florida afternoon, with highs in the low 70s. The warming trend will continue on Thursday with lows in the high-60s and a high near 80.

3.With the parting of ways between the Miami Dolphins and GM Jeff Ireland and the firoing of offensive coach Mike Sherman, where does the team go from here?

4. Congressman Marco Rubio of South Florida will speak Wednesday on the 50th anniversary of the “War on Poverty,” one of several Republicans pushing their party to reengage in the debate over the income gap.

5. The key suspect in the “Toxic Tush” case begins a 336-day prison sentence. Last October, Oneal Ron Morris pleaded guilty to one count of practicing healthcare without a license. She has been accused of injecting Fix-A-Flat and other substances into the buttocks of women in botched cosmetic procedures.
