CareCloud, the Miami-based heath-technology company, and the School of Business Administration at the University of Miami have teamed up to launch CareCloud Scholars, a program that helps graduate students in engineering and healthcare programs engage with South Florida’s healthcare community in an effort to support development of a healthcare tech hub.
As part of the program, CareCloud will sponsor 100 graduate students to attend the school’s healthcare impact conference titled “The Business of Health Care: Bending the Cost Curve,” on Jan. 17 along with a special session with CareCloud’s CEO Albert Santalo and Vice President of Marketing Joseph Sawyer. The aim is to grow the Scholars program over time and some of the scholars will also get the opportunity to intern at CareCloud in the coming year, Santalo said.
The January conference will feature speakers like Olympia Snowe, former U.S. Senator; Diane Rowland, executive vice president of Henry J Kaiser Family Foundation; and James Winkler, senior vice president at Aon Hewitt, among others.
