Despite occasional downpours, the sold-out crowd of 600 at the Rolex-sponsored Trump Invitational $125,000 Grand Prix Sunday at Mar-A-Lago Club featured 36 Olympic-class riders and Olympic-level socializing. The guest list included Athina Onassis de Miranda and her Olympic-class Brazilian show jumping rider husband Alvaro de Miranda, Patti and Jessica Springsteen ( Bruces wife and daughter), BET co-founder Sheila Johnson, Gucci America president Christophe de Pous, Rolex vice president Peter Nicholson, and event co-chairs Georgina Bloomberg (ex-NYC Mayor Michaels daughter), and Ivanka Trump.
Donald and Melania Trump got the party started with a cocktail reception by the pool, followed by a performance from multi-platinum recording artist and four-time Grammy nominee Hunter Hayes, who wowed the crowd with some of his hit singles, including I Want Crazy.
The fundraising kicked into high gear with a live auction of a golf foursome with Trump, which sold twice for $40,000 each. The one-of-a-kind event raised more than $300,000 for the FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge, which has raised and distributed more than $4.2 million for almost 100 nonprofits in Palm Beach County over the last four years.
