I am a snowbird who has been coming to this area for many years. Years ago, there used to be a sweet little nine-hole par-3 golf course in South Beach. There was a place to park, a booth with a man in it where you paid, I think, $6 to play. It was never crowded, but it was always well used.
But in the past few years, it has fallen into disrepair — the fairways overgrown, greens nothing but sand and scrub grass and the only people you see are dog owners letting their pets run all over it and do their business without it being cleaned up.
I’ve heard rumors for years that the city of Miami Beach is going to renovate it, nothing has happened. I can’t get a straight answer from City Hall.
