Stephen Ross' stadium held its biggest college football game of the year Friday without Stephen Ross in the building.

Ross, the Dolphins' owner currently mulling his franchise's immediate future, stayed out of sight Friday. He wasn't at the team's training complex, where he spent seven hours Thursday, trying to get to the bottom of his team's late-season collapse.

And he didn't attend the Orange Bowl, held annually at Sun Life Stadium.

Ross has spent the last week mulling the fate of Dolphins brass Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin, although more likely casualties are offensive coordinator Mike Sherman and members of his staff.

As of late Friday, however, the Dolphins had announced no changes, and the expectation is the weekend will pass quietly, as well.
