California: Monterey Bay Aquarium gearing up for ‘Tentacles’ exhibition

Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is setting up for a major living exhibition showcasing our multi-limbed friend from the sea. Tentacles: The Astounding Lives of Octopuses, Squid and Cuttlefishes, which opens April 12, will include interactive exhibits dramatizing the animals’ ability to change color and shape and swim with jet propulsion. There will be art pieces highlighting 4,000 years of humans’ fascination with the creatures, from ancient Minoan pottery and Roman tiles to Victorian-era scientific and literary illustrations to modern-day tattoos.
