I feel sorry for those people who have believed for the past five years that the economy would only get worse and, for that reason, didn’t buy stocks or mutual funds and didn’t add to their 401(k)s or IRAs. They listened to the wrong sources and didn’t profit from one of the biggest bull markets in our stock market’s history.
But other doomsayers, who have consistently criticized our government for every decision about the economy made while they still bought stocks and added to 401(k)s, should be embarrassed and apologize for their hypocrisy. They should be grateful that they didn’t put their money where their mouths were. They benefited from investing in America. In 2014, they should do us all a favor and keep their negativity about our country to themselves.
