A grandmother pushing two of her grandchildren in a stroller who was hit by a car Christmas night in Sunrise has died.

Li Fang Dong, a 61-year-old Sunrise resident, was pushing a stroller containing two boys -- cousins ages 1 and 2 -- across Pine Island Road and Sunset Strip when all three were struck by a Scion traveling south on Pine Island Road. The driver, a 23-year-old Davie woman, was not injured and immediately stopped at the scene. Dong later died at Broward General Medical Center. The two children remain in the intensive care unit with serious injuries as of Thursday morning.

Dong might have left the pedestrian crosswalk while crossing the road. The investigation is ongoing but no charges are expected at this time for the driver.
