Mom, two young children hit by car in Sunrise


Sunrise police are investigating an accident where a mother and her two children were hit by a driver Wednesday night.

The accident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Pine Island Road, according to Sgt. Rodney Hailey, spokesman for Sunrise police.

One child was airlifted to Broward General Medical Center. The mother and other child were taken by ambulance.

Investigators remained on scene with the driver and witnesses.

According to people on the scene, the mother was pushing a stroller.

The road was shut down Wednesday night. No other details were immediately available.
