Miami-Dade County commissioners should be ashamed of their vote not to override the mayor's veto (County staff’s 5% healthcare levy survives, Dec. 18). Just when I thought morale could not get any lower, they have now established a two-tier system where some employees get the 5-percent pay cut back and some do not.
In what universe is a promised restoration of pay considered a pay increase? So we less fortunate county workers will continue to pay our normal taxes in addition to paying an extra 5-percent tax toward county services.
I’m not feeling very excellent.
