Tamarac man critical after hit-and-run

A Tamarac man was left in critical condition after a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to West Oakland Oark Blvd. and State Road 7, in Lauderdale Lakes just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

The unidentified 28-year-old man was hit in the westbound lanes. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with critical injuries, after being treated on the scene.

The car is described as a mid-2000's Scion, TC model, dark in color with front end, windshield and roof damage.

Traffic homicide detectives interviewed witnesses who said the car slowed down after hitting the man and then made a right turn onto Northwest 43 Avenue, into a neighborhood.

Anyone with information is asked to call BSO Communications Center at 954-767-8740, Broward Crime Stoppers, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
