How much more banal drivel do your readers need to endure in regards to President Obama’s display of statesmanship when he shook Raúl Castro’s hand?
By pandering to the ill mannered, the Miami Herald missed the real significance of what happened immediately following that insignificant handshake. This is when Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff kissed President Obama on both cheeks almost before Raúl let go of the president’s hand.
I wonder if she is experiencing such shrill criticism for her actions? Remember just recently she canceled a state visit to the United States because of NSA’s behavior in her country?
What dishonor President Obama would have brought to our country if he went to the funeral and not displayed diplomatic behavior?
