Much has been said of President Obama’s handshake with Cuban leader Raul Castro, especially since Cuba has been our enemy for more than 50 years. But it could have been worse — Obama could have kissed him on the cheek.
Maybe the cordial handshake signals a thaw in our relations with Cuba. We can’t stay enemies forever. Nelson Mandela's memorial was as good a time as any to do it, as Mandela emphasized forgiving your enemies and reconciliation.
