Bank robbery suspect with possible bomb is shot in Dania Beach


The Broward Sheriff's Office surrounded a bank in Dania Beach Friday afternoon after reports of a robbery suspect who said he had a bomb around his neck.

The Chase Bank is at 300 Dania Beach Blvd.

The suspect was shot outside of the bank by sheriff's deputies, according to a witness who was across the street and heading to a nearby beauty supply store near WInn-Dixie.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the robbery suspect is alive.

The area has been evacuated and the bomb squad was dispatched to disconnect the device.
