Boy who was struck by hit-and-run driver dies

 

A 12-year-old boy who was hit by a car while playing football in the street died on Friday. Witnesses said the driver was racing with another car when the boy was struck.

Witnesses said the hit-and-run accident happened around 4 p.m. Thursday when the two cars, one possibly a red Mustang or Camaro and the other black car, were racing in the the 11500 block of Northwest 29th Avenue in Miami-Dade.

One of the cars struck the child and kept going.

The boy was taken by air rescue to Jackson Memorial in critical condition.
