Archbishop McCarthy girls’ soccer team gets goals from 8 players in rout of Stranahan

 

The Archbishop McCarthy girls’ soccer team (16-2-1) dominated Stranahan en route to an 8-0 victory on Wednesday.

Adrianna Cabeza, Aly Maranges, Taylor Shore, Carissa Sanchez, Stephanie Moreno, Madison St. Philip, Amanda Perez and Abby Ribas each scored a goal for the Mavericks. Brook Williamson chipped in two assists. Cabeza also had an assist. With the victory, Archbishop McCarthy improved to 16-2-1.

The Mavericks travel to Pines Charter on Thursday at 5 p.m.

•  North Broward 5, Coral Springs Christian 1: Morgan Sherman led North Broward by scoring two goals in its victory over Coral Springs Charter.

Rachel Blow had four assists and a goal for the Eagles. Jenna Shortridge and Adrianna Dubay scored a goal each. Goal keeper Sam Susi registered four saves.

The Eagles (10-1-1) face Clearwater Central Catholic on Friday at 5 p.m.

Alex Alexis scored two goals for Everglades (5-3-4) in a 3-0 victory over Krop. Kenan Mora had his fourth shuout of the season and Hakeem Duncan scored a goal for the Gators.

Junior guard Prince Ali, a University of Connecticut oral commitment, fueled Sagemont (8-0) with 22 points, eight rebounds and nine steals in a 68-44 win over Chaminade-Madonna.
