PAMM an impressive institution

I attended the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the Perez Art Museum Miami. It was at once thrilling and bittersweet for many that have raised awareness and funds for the Center for the Fine Arts, Miami Art Museum and now the Perez Museum over the past 30 years.

The museum will undoubtedly become well renowned globally for its unique architecture and setting. PAMM’s collection of art is as impressive as the building. This incredible blend of aesthetic and environmental style will further Miami’s claim to cultural significance.

As a passionate and devout supporter of this cause for the past 25 years, I think it is appropriate to celebrate all of the unrecognized people who made the Perez Art Museum Miami a reality. Thank you, we could not have done it without you.

Budget proposal would put children at risk

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez’s proposal to eliminate police officers in crucial departments that specialize in child protection is irresponsible and illogical. Some of the units that would be abolished or reduced include:

  • LeBron’s return to Cleveland

The prodigal son has returned. After bolting the Cleveland Cavaliers four years ago for the bright lights of Miami, Ohio native LeBron James has returned home to Cleveland.

  • Disarm Hamas

Hamas must be disarmed for the sake of both Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Hamas is recognized by the European Union as a terrorist organization. It is a threat to Israel and has fired thousands of rockets into civilian areas.
