NFL WEEK 14

Greg Cote’s Thursday NFL pick

gcote@MiamiHerald.com

TEXANS (2-10) at JAGUARS (3-9)

Line: HOU by 3

Cote’s pick: JAC 24-20

TV: 8:25 p.m., NFL Network

One week ago the NFL served us three delicious platters of Thanksgiving Day fare. This Thursday we get the indigestion: Texans and Jaguars and their combined 5-19 record. One of the reasons for my rough season of predictions, upon reflection, is the constant mistaken belief that grossly underachieving teams like Houston and Atlanta will somehow magically turn it around and that THIS will be the week. Hasn’t happened. So here I go not with the better team on paper, but with the better team on the field, at least lately. Jax has won three of its past four, fueled by a bit of a resurgence by Maurice Jones-Drew, while the Texans skid has reached 10. Jags are only winless team at home this season and have dropped seven in a row by the river dating to last year. That can’t continue. (Can it?) Upset!

Greg Cote: Many reasons to put faith in Miami Dolphins

An angel sits on one shoulder and a little devil on the other. Both are talking to you, Dolphins fan, vying for your ear and your soul. One is sowing darkness, the other light. One despair, the other hope. You hear the devil first, because while good tends to whisper, bad shouts.
