On Thanksgiving morning, I was driving to my home and came upon at least 100 bicyclists gathered in the middle of Southwest 264th Street and 187th Avenue. They were talking to each other and refusing to move, preventing local residents from traveling along the street.
I got out of my car (my horn-honking was ignored), asked a group to move to one side of the road and was rudely told, “It’s only one day” and to “go a different way.” I, like so many other Redland residents, enjoy our piece of heaven and lack of city traffic, which may be the reason bicyclists enjoy our area, too.
I’m all for sharing the road, but this group of bicyclists ignored traffic laws and refused to share the road with the residents who live here.
