South Florida woke up in a fog Monday.

The National Weather Service on Monday issued a dense fog advisory for South Florida until 8 a.m. By 9 a.m., most of the fog burned off.

Areas under the advisory included Hialeah, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach.

Visibility in some places was less than a mile.

"The fog is thick and dangerous," said CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez told her early-morning viewers.

During foggy conditions, forecasters suggest slower speeds on the road and low-beam headlights.
