2 women killed; two others wounded in Miami street shooting

Miami police were looking for clues and suspects in the murder of two women in a Model City neighborhood street shooting early Sunday.

Two other women were wounded in the barrage of bullets.

A 911 call alerted rescue units to the shooting along Northwest 12th Avenue and 64th Street. When paramedics arrived, they found the four women scattered in the street between 64th and 65th streets.

“It was a pretty chaotic scene,” Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll said.

It was unclear if the women were targeted or caught in the middle of gunfire.

Killed was an 18-year-old woman and another woman in her 30s. Both were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where they died.

The victims’ names have not been released.

Wounded was a 23-year-old woman who was shot several times in the leg and was taken to the hospital, where she was in stable condition, Carroll said.

A fourth woman was shot in the arm. Her condition was unknown.

The investigation continues.
