Florida Gators DT Damien Jacobs remembers FSU snub

Miami Herald Writer

Florida senior defensive tackle Damien Jacobs doesn’t hold back his distaste for Florida State.

The East Mississippi Community College transfer originally signed with the Seminoles out of high school, but was immediately directed to the junior college.

Jacobs said he “needed to grow a little bit and [see] the light,” but after two years at EMCC, the Seminoles had seemingly moved on.

“I think 2011 they signed six or seven D-tackles in the next class and that pretty much told me like, nah, that's not the place for me,” Jacobs said.

Quarterback Tyler Murphy (shoulder) remains questionable, and left tackle D. J. Humphries (MCL sprain) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against FSU. Cornerback Marcus Roberson (ankle) and defensive end Jon Bullard (knee) are expected to play.
