Toddler hit by family member’s car in Boynton Beach

A Boynton Beach toddler remains in critical condition on Sunday at Delray Medical Center after a family member accidentally backed over him with his car.

The accident happened Saturday morning around 10 a.m. at 181 N. Atlantic Drive.

The 14-month old was struck when his uncle, Jean Max Saint Leger,24, went to back a red 1995 BMW out of a driveway.

A 5-year-old boy playing with the child at the time of the accident rushed over and pulled him from underneath the car.

The family member drove the boy to Bethesda Hospital. His injuries were so severe he was transferred to Delray Trauma Center in critical condition.

Boynton Beach said charges are pending the outcome of their investigation.
