Motorcycle chase across Broward, Miami-Dade ends in crash



A motorcyclist wanted for injuring a Broward sheriff’s deputy and leading police on a high-speed chase into Miami-Dade County is in police custody.

The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, crashed his silver motorcycle at the intersection of Okeechobee Road and Florida’s Turnpike around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The crash shut down a stretch of Okeechobee Road.

The motorcyclist led police on the chase after he struck a deputy at Royal Palm Boulevard and Weston Hills Boulevard in Weston, according to authorities.

The injured deputy was taken to Cleveland Clinic. The extent of his injuries weren’t immediately released.

The motorcyclist was also hurt when he crashed his motorcycle.
