Woman killed after car plunges into Dania Beach canal

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is looking into what caused a woman’s car to plunge into a Dania Beach canal Monday.

Police divers found Tania Carranza’s body inside her gold 2004 Honda Accord, which sank about two blocks east of where the car went into the water.

Police say the car entered the Dania Beach cut-off canal in the 1200 block of Old Griffin Road.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Traffic Homicide Detective Carlos DeJesus at 954-321-4840 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
