Broward lawyer on trial denies overbilling Seminoles

A Broward County lawyer who is charged with overbilling the Seminole Tribe of Florida by more than $1 million is a victim of tribal politics and his dishonest former assistant, his defense attorney told jurors Monday.

Frank Excel Marley III, 39, of Southwest Ranches, is on trial in federal court in Fort Lauderdale. He has pleaded not guilty to one count of wire and mail fraud conspiracy and nine counts of theft from Indian tribal organizations.
