Truck slams into motel in South Broward

A pickup truck slammed into a West Park motel Monday morning, sending the driver to the hospital. No one was injured inside the building.

Miramar, Pembroke Pines and Broward sheriff’s officers are at the Trio Motel, 2501 S. State Road 7, trying to figure out what happened.

Eight people were inside the hotel, according to CBS4, but no one was in the office, which got the brunt of the impact.

The crash might have started with the collision of two trucks. Police are trying to determine if someone ran off after the crash.

State Road 7 between Southwest 20th and 25th streets was shut down in both directions for hours. The area is between Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Pembroke Road.

This bulletin will be updated as more information becomes available.
