Miami Heat superstar LeBron James’ alleged father won’t go away so easily.
D.C. lawyer Leicester Bryce Stovell, who filed not just one but two lawsuits to show the world he is the double NBA champ’s long-lost dad, is appealing the dismissal of his second action against James, according to federal court records.
So far Stovell, who claims he fathered the 28-year-old James during a one-night stand with Gloria James, hasn’t told the court what he plans to argue in the appeal.
Stovell, who does bear a faint resemblance to James, first filed in 2010.
That case was dismissed after his DNA test came back negative, something he blamed on tampering by James and his mother.
Stovell, however, filed a second lawsuit earlier this year, claiming that James disparaged and slandered him in a 2012 article in Sports Illustrated in which James talks about growing up without a father.
Stovell was shot down on a technicality because he had not filed in a timely fashion.
He filed his appeal in October.
Stovell couldn’t be contacted. The office phone number listed for him with the D.C. Bar Association is not in service.
The wedding crasher
Six-time NBA champ Michael Jordan, who lives in Jupiter, made the wedding weekend of a couple of local lovebirds extra-special.
And he showed some skills at beer pong.
Jordan, 50 going on 18, was photographed playing the drinking game poolside at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, and the photos ended up burning up social media.
So, what happened?
Wearing an oversized Air Jordan T-shirt, the six-time NBA champ and owner of the Charlotte Bobcats apparently crashed the Nov. 9 post-wedding party of newlyweds Michael and Carolina Palahach.
“My son Michael struck a conversation with Jordan because they have a few things in common,” said the groom’s proud mom, Miriam Palahach. “Next thing we know, he is playing beer pong against my son. Jordan ended up staying with the party for most of the afternoon.
“We had an epic wedding the previous day. So for my son, who grew up watching Jordan, it was amazing. He’s very down to earth.”
But is MJ any good at beer pong?
Let's just put it this way: Even Jordan wouldn't bet on himself to win.
Right on time for last week’s season 3 reunion of The Real Housewives of Miami, former supermodel Joanna Krupa delivered a startling confession: She abused laxatives back in the day.
The 34-year-old newlywed Polish Miamian told an entertainment magazine that she popped mounds of laxatives in her late teens so that she could become a famous catwalker.
“I gained weight and struggled to lose it quickly,” Krupa says. “Being 20 years old, I had no idea how to lose weight fast, and laxatives were an easy way out.”
She eventually stopped before things got really bad, she says, and went on to compete on Dancing With The Stars.
