Scarlett, Hunt fuel University School’s attack in victory over Gulliver Prep

Special to the Miami Herald

Jordan Scarlett and Lajuan Hunt both rushed for three touchdowns as University School routed Gulliver Prep 47-7 at Nova on Friday night in the Region 4-4A semifinals.

The Suns (10-2) will play the winner of the Booker T. Washington-Glades Central game, which is scheduled for Saturday.

If the Tornadoes win, it will set up a matchup that most of South Florida has been waiting for in the Class 4A playoffs, featuring a pair of defending state champions that now reside in the same class and region.

“We just had it in our minds all week in practice and had to establish a good run game,” Scarlett said. “We just executed. The schedule has prepared us to match up with [Booker T.]. We are ready. They are a great set of guys. We just need to be smart and execute.”

Hunt rushed 15 times for 117 yards, and Scarlett had nine carries for 102 yards.
