Under Gov. Scott’s budget cuts for the Florida Department of Children & Families, the agency should keep its initials but change its name to the Department of Children’s Fatalities. Surely, these misguided fiscal cuts, which the governor claims will redirect state funds to more “critical services,” will result in more children dying.
The absurdity of more cuts to one of the most beleaguered and underfunded, yet critically important state agencies, is a poor reflection on Scott’s character as well as the voters of Florida. For shame.
