Florida State’s Jameis Winston tries to stay focused

With distractions swirling around Jameis Winston and the Noles on Wednesday, FSU’s quarterback was asked how he would try to block things out for this weekend.

“Just game plan every week,” Winston said. “We’re preparing for Syracuse, and they have a good defense.”

Florida State forced seven turnovers last Saturday at Wake Forest. Asked about his defense’s ability to take the ball away on Wednesday, Jimbo Fisher credited his defensive front.

“Turnovers affect the outcome of the game, no doubt. We’re playing well on the run, but at the same time we’re able to pressure with blitz packages or our front four,” Fisher said.
