Beer of the week: New Belgium Accumulation

Beer: New Belgium Accumulation

Style: India pale ale with wheat

Alcohol: 6.2 percent by volume

Price: About $9 a six-pack of 12-ounce bottles at Publix

Story: Accumulation, the newest seasonal offering from Colorado's New Belgium Brewing Co., is perhaps the best example I’ve tasted of the white-hot white IPA style. Hoppy with malted wheat, it’s a hazy, pale-golden brew with a billowing head, aromas of candied lime and wheat grass and a light, clean flavor.

Pairing: Wheat beers have a creamy mouth feel that matches well with avocado. For the super-cream experience, pair Accumulation with a scoop of avocado ice cream from Azucar Ice Cream Co. at 1503 SW Eighth St., Miami.
