Green Tea, Blueberry and Banana Smoothie
In this smoothie adapted from womanshealth.com, you can substitute frozen raspberries or blackberries and a steeped herbal tea.
1 heaping tablespoon loose green tea or 1 green tea bag
2 teaspoons honey
1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
1 small banana
3/4 cup vanilla almond milk
Bring 1/4 cup water to a boil. Remove pan from heat, add tea and brew 5 minutes. Strain if using loose tea. Stir in honey and set aside to cool. In a blender combine blueberries, banana and milk. Add tea and blend until smooth. Makes 1 serving.
Per serving: 310 calories, 10 percent calories from fat, 3.6 g fat, (0.2 g sat fat, 0.2 g mono fat), 0 mg cholesterol, 2.7 g protein, 72.5 g carbohydrate, 10.6 g fiber, 118 mg sodium.
