DaSilva’s two goals lead Monarch to soccer win over Gibbons

 

Rodrigo DaSilva’s two goals were enough to boost Monarch (2-1) past Cardinal Gibbons 6-3 on Friday.

DaSilva’s goals set the tone for his teammates to get loose for scoring opportunities of their own.

Aroldo De Andrade netted a goal and registered three assists. Jordano Chea added a goal and an assist.

Leo Goncalves and Rodrigo Silva scored one a goal apiece and assisted on another.

•  Monarch 6, Cardinal Gibbons 3: Rodrigo DaSilva 2 goals. Aroldo De Andrade goal, 3 assists. Jordano Chea goal, assist. Leo Goncalves goal, assist. Rodrigo Silva goal, assist. MON 2-1-0.

ELSEWHERE

•  Gulliver 4, Coral Reef 1: Adriano Castro and Jose Novas each scored two goals for Gulliver as it cruised to victory against Coral Reef.

Louis Leveque assisted on two Gulliver goals.

The Raiders improved to 2-0.

•  Ferguson 2, Coral Park 0: Carlos Sanchez scored two goals while Carlos Lopez recorded a shutout in goal to propel Ferguson past Coral Park.

The Falcons improved to 2-1.

•  Archimedean 8, Somerset Central 0: Bijan Zojaji netted four goals and added two assists as Archimedean rolled past Somerset Central.

Christopher Jordan added two goals. Daniel Orellanos and Michale Villegas each scored a goal, and Andres Hernandez added two assists.

•  La Salle 3, Archbishop McCarthy 1: Three Royal Lions players scored to give La Salle its first victory of the season against Archbishop McCarthy.

Mateo Brugo, Chris Bared and Tomas Victoria scored for LaSalle.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Behind Hailey Malueg’s two goals, Palmer Trinity soared past Island Christian 8-0.

Sarah Medina netted a goal and two assists. Sofia Rivas, Hana Bornani, Tianna Shiappa-Pietra and Victoria Rosales each added a goal and an assist.

Anabel Danon added a goal while Paula Gutierrez assisted on one of the eight goals scored.

In all, seven different Falcons netted goals.

Palmer Trinity improved 3-1 on the season.

Katie Slattery scored the game-winning goal for the Lightning as it took down Taravella 1-0.
