Harrison, Joseph fuel North Miami’s win over Edison

Special to the Miami Herald

Tavaris Harrison was succinct after North Miami beat Edison at Alonzo Mourning/FIU North.

“We have one goal, which is [the] Citrus Bowl,” the Pioneers junior receiver said after catching four passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns.

Harrison and the No. 15-ranked and playoff-bound Pioneers (9-1) set the tone early in a game where starting quarterback Hilton Joseph threw for 185 yards and three scores on 11-of-16 passing, all in the first half.

The Pioneers, whose shutout was broken up when Edison’s Chris Norvil scored on a 2-yard run with 3:18 to play, will be making their first playoff appearance in over a decade.

“It means a lot to us,” Harrison said.
