Beer of the week: Lost Coast Watermelon Wheat

Beer: Lost Coast Watermelon Wheat

Style: Wheat ale

Alcohol: 5 percent by volume

Price: $6-$8 for a draft at OTC Restaurant in Miami

Story: Tangerine Wheat, a citrus-flavored wheat ale from Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka, Calif., is easy to find in South Florida. Harder to locate: Watermelon Wheat, Lost Cost’s seasonal, limited-release wheat beer flavored with watermelon. OTC Restaurant in Miami has it on draft, and its light body and juicy watermelon flavor make for a mighty refreshing pint in South Florida’s heat.

Pairing: Cool, briny oysters are traditionally paired with stouts, but OTC in Brickell tops its half-shells with an icy watermelon granita, making them a seamless match with Watermelon Wheat.
