That buzz coming from the building at Las Olas Boulevard and Fifth Avenue is the sound of 200 gleeful patrons relishing their night at the 2-month-old Lobster Bar Sea Grille.

An Atlanta restaurant group spent $3.5 million remaking the former Jackson’s Steakhouse into an elegant ode to classic seafood restaurants. White marble covers the bar top and surrounds the oyster and appetizer kitchen in the center of the dining room. Fresh fish is displayed on a bed of ice. Wait staff in white shirts, black trousers and black vests glide through the dining room.

And then there’s the food. It’s good. Sometimes very good. And very expensive. But it occasionally feels secondary to the socializing.
