The team behind EMerge Americas, a large technology conference set for May 2-6 in Miami Beach, announced Monday that Latin America’s top incubators and accelerators will be participating in the conference’s “winner take all” eMerge Demo Day Challenge.
Participants including Argentina’s NXTP Labs, Brazil’s 21212, Chile’s Startup Chile, Colombia’s iNNpulsa and HubBog, Mexico’s Angel Ventures, and the multi-regional 500 Startups and Wayra will send their best startups and early stage companies to compete in the challenge, which will also showcase outstanding startups from South Florida, said Diane Sanchez, CEO of the Technology Foundation of the Americas, which is putting on the conference and spearheading a movement to help create a technology hub for the Americas in South Florida.
“As Latin America’s entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to evolve, these incubators and accelerators have been at the forefront of helping high potential entrepreneurs nurture and develop their early stage startups into globally competitive business enterprises. Events like the eMerge Demo Day Challenge provide companies with the opportunity to showcase their innovations and business models to potential investors, a critical component in fueling their growth,” Sanchez said in a press release.
The five-day eMerge Americas event aims to bring together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts for keynote presentations, panel discussions, a hackathon, technology workshops and networking opportunities.
