Margate police investigate motorcycle fatality


The driver of a motorcycle was killed late Friday night when exiting an apartment complex near the intersection of Banks Road and West Atlantic Boulevard, Margate police said.

In a statement, Margate police did not disclose the name of the driver pending notification of next of kin.

Police said the driver was pulling out of a driveway to an apartment complex about 6:30 p.m. when they lost control of the motorcyle. The driver was taken in serious condition to North Broward Medical Center.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Traffic Homicide Investigator Mary Crabtree at the Margate Police Department 954-972-7111.
