Miramar caps perfect regular season with victory over Cooper City

Special to the Miami Herald

Miramar (10-0, 6-0 District 12-8A) finished the regular season undefeated with a dominant shutout at home over Cooper City (3-7, 2-4).

Miramar moved the ball at will all night with a fast-paced offense that Cooper City could not handle. Running back Eric Pittman led the Patriots with 65 rushing yards on nine carries and one touchdown.

Cooper City turned the ball over six times, including a critical fumble at Miramar’s 1-yard line in the first quarter. Miramar defenders Kaywon Davis and Brandon Morris each returned a fumble for a touchdown.

“I think we have a really good chance [in the playoffs],” Miramar coach Damon Cogdell said. “We just got to take it one game at a time.”
