We are disappointed at the Herald’s negative portrayal of nurses in the Oct. 27 Local section photo of the “naughty healthcare professionals” taken at Fantasy Fest. While it was in good humor, it is distasteful to the nursing profession.
Female nurses continually battle the stereotype that they are sexual objects. Nursing is a profession that requires intensive education, commitment to safety, trust from the community, integrity and high moral standards. It is also not exclusive to women — more men are entering the profession.
We invite editors to visit our campus to see who we are and what we do for the community that we serve.
