The elves were busy at Santa's Enchanted Forest Wednesday working on last-minute preparations for the park’s grand opening Thursday.
The theme park opens on Halloween this year, combining trick-or-treating with more traditional Christmas activities, like the 7 p.m. lighting ceremony for the park’s 92-foot tree.
Kids 9 and under get in free on opening night, if they come in costume.
The brightly lit park, with dozens of carnival rides and five roller coasters, will also feature plenty of entertainment with a performance by the Ferguson High School marching band, a tight-rope act, a white Bengal tiger show and a talent competition.
The park runs through Jan. 5 and is open daily from 5:30 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $28.97 for those 10 and up; children 9 and under and seniors 65 and older are $19.63. Kids 2 and younger get in free. Tickets include rides, live entertainment and parking.
Santa’s is located on the corner of Bird Road and the Palmetto Expressway — or just look for the lights; you can’t miss them.
