Re the Oct. 29 article Despite ‘red flags,’ boy bound to death: I found the story so upsetting, and people’s actions evil and cruel, that I couldn’t read the entire thing. It turned my stomach.
These horrible incidents have been going on for years. The first that I can remember clearly is the Rilya Wilson case, and her body was never found. The people who commit the abuse aren’t the only guilty ones. What about the caseworkers, their supervisors and, of course, the directors?
There’s no excuse for an agency to accept that kind of behavior or lack of behavior and discipline. The Department of Children & Families is charged with saving children’s lives, not ignoring the abuse and lying to the authorities.
