The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Sunday at a house at 4616 E. Eighth Ln.

Police responded to an emergency call from a woman reporting that a man was threatening her with a gun, Hialeah police spokesman Carl Zogby said in an email.

A few moments after their arrival, officers shot 51-year-old Arturo Jorge Guzman

Zogby said officers have been dispatched at least six times this year to the home on domestic-related disputes.

The shooting is under investigation, Zogby said.

This is the second police-related shooting in Hialeah in a week. A man was shot several times by an officer outside a Publix Sabor store on West 68th Street.

Police say Javier Diaz, 30, tried to steal a woman’s purse and then run over an officer to get away. A second officer fired his weapon, hitting Diaz four times.
