On the eve of Halloween WWEek and the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, to me the biggest question is what will the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels do.
Will the Kid break Daniel Bryan’s heart?
By vote of the WWE Universe, HBK is the guest referee for the Hell in a Cell main event match featuring Daniel Bryan against Randy Orton for the vacant WWE title.
The WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view is 8 p.m. EST Sunday, Oct. 27 at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. Pre-show is about 7 p.m. EST.
Will Michaels call the match the Bill Alfonso way -- right down the middle?
Will he side with Daniel Bryan, who he trained?
Will he side with Randy Orton, who his best friend Triple H supports?
Will he dupe Daniel Bryan, who his best friend Triple H doesn’t think is a worthy face of the company?
Will he dupe Randy Orton, who punted him in the head a few years ago?
• The Halloween season is chilling, thrilling and sometimes bloody, which is apropos for Hell in a Cell.
The Hell in a Cell is a 24-foot-high roofed cell (enclosed steel cage) structure surrounding the ring and ringside area. In a Hell in a Cell match, there are no disqualifications or countouts (also no escape). It’s also a good way to prevent outside interference like what occurred at Battleground.
The only way to win Hell in a Cell is by pinfall or submission inside the ring.
Michaels is no stranger to Hell in a Cell in Miami.
HBK, as a guest referee, tried helping his best friend Triple H when The Game battled The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 28 at Sun Life Stadium in nearby Miami Gardens. It didn’t work, and respect prevailed. HBK later counted the pin as Undertaker won.
Still, Michaels did try to help his best friend (blood brother) against Taker in Hell in a Cell.
Blood is thicker than water, and it is the bloody time of year.
Triple H is HBK’s best friend. Triple H wants Orton to win the WWE title.
So will HBK side with his best friend?
My guess: Unfortunately, ‘yes...yes...yes’
• Also at Hell in a Cell, CM Punk faces Ryback and Paul Heyman in Hell in a Cell.
John Cena will make his return from injury, challenging Alberto Del Rio for the World title.
Del Rio guarantees victory over Cena and more on The Roman Show.
WWE tag champs Goldust and Cody Rhodes vs. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) vs. The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns).
Intercontinental champ Curtis Axel (with Paul Heyman) vs. Big E Langston.
WWE divas champ AJ Lee (with Tamina) vs. Brie Bella.
Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando with El Torito) vs. The Real Americans (Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro with Zeb Colter).
WWE Hell in a Cell is the first pay-per-view at the AAA since WWE’s Survivor Series in November 2010.
Miami is the gateway to the Americas, and the AAA is a long-time host of WWE events including the first SmackDown of 2013, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony during WrestleMania Week in 2012, the Raw after WrestleMania in 2012 and the Rock’s birthday on Raw in 2011.
Tickets are sale via TicketMaster outlets, online and by phone as well as at the AAA box office. Keep posted at http://www.wwe.com/events.
