People in positions of responsibility are expected to deal with the everyday adversity of their jobs. But sometimes adversity takes a solid, nearly immovable form, and the response of one particular leader sets a new standard. My colleague at the University of Miami, Donna Shalala, demonstrated grace, determination and class in dealing with an interminable NCAA process. We’re reminded, once again, of how much UM and its great president mean to our community.
