Kendall Hammocks football
Joel Rodriguez scored twice, one on a 50-yard run, as the Kendall Hammocks Warriors 14-and-under tackle football team defeated Ives Estates 36-6 in the Miami Xtreme Football League. Shamar Munroe had two touchdowns, one on a punt return.
In the 11-and-under game, Francis Conrado threw touchdown passes to Jabari Ishmael and Aaron Carvajal in a 35-12 defeat to host Tamiami.

The Holy Rosary St. Richard Catholic School hosted its 15th annual cross-country meet in Cutler Bay.
HRSR is one of two Archdiocesan schools that has enough land (11 acres) to host a large meet on its school grounds. More than 22 Archdiocesan schools participated, with runners in primary, junior varsity and varsity divisions.
The event featured 331 runners in the Primary girls’ race, 286 in the Primary boys’ race, 185 in JV girls, 165 in JV boys, 202 in Varsity girls and 145 in Varsity boys. The length of the race varied by category: Primary one mile, JV race 1.5 miles, Varsity two miles.
HRSR runners Natalie Espinosa, Soleli Guerra and Lynn Reith received medals for placing in the top 10.
Scheck Hillel sports
Scheck Hillel Community School Athletes of the Week: Nicole Hausmann was the only middle school runner on the varsity cross-country team. She showed great leadership skills and dedication. She made the effort in every meet and showed tremendous improvement throughout the season. Nicole also demonstrates kindness to her teammates and classmates and is well respected by her peers and teachers.
Senior quarterback Alex Froimzon (varsity football) stood out in the Homecoming game against Berean Christian, completing 20 of 31 passes for 289 yards and five touchdown.
Senior Aliza Lichy (varsity volleyball) of North Miami Beach played a great defensive game against Somerset with three digs and consistent serving. She is a leader with a great attitude.

Coach Greg Magner, athletic director at Archbishop Curley Notre Dame Prep, announced the Players of the Week.
Female Athlete of the Week: senior volleyball player Miquel Goins had five aces, 12 kills, five digs and a block at her final home match, a victory over Princeton Christian.
Male Athlete of the Week: senior cross-country runner Nikko Antido, a four-year lettermen who captured another top finish in 18:35 at his ACND home finale.
• At the final home cross-country meet of the 2013 season versus Hebrew Academy and Divine Savior, 10 ACND runners ran personal bests.
For the girls’ team, senior Jenny Lamy 23:35; senior Milienne Bonenfant 29:24; freshman Weslene Sylvestre 31:56; and senior Christine Masseus 36:06. For the boys’ team, senior Nikko Antido 18:35; sophomore Hedwyn Lamy 21:25; senior Michael Garcia 22:45; senior Yave Calero 23:12; sophomore Eduardo Fajardo-Lara 23:14; and senior Kevin German.
Rhian Romanik finished first overall in the girls’ race. Jenny Lamy was second and Milienne Bonenfant fifth. In the boys’ run, Nikko Antido was second, and Michael Smith took third. Sean Smith was fourth and Daniel Briz fifth.
Prime Time basketball
Dylan Gale had a game-high 14 points as the Golden Eagles edged the Friars 22-20 in the Big East (3rd-4th grade) of the Prime Time Sports Basketball League at the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center, 18900 NE 25th Ave., North Miami Beach.
